Years later, the Supreme Court set aside the dismissal and granted him post-retirement benefits. These apart, the book is a vivid description of the varied socio-political phenomena witnessed and experienced by the author for almost eight decades that takes into account his bitter experiences as a political activist as well and active role in facilitating the peace process between the government and a section of the banned ULFA.
